The only way to protect your investment and maintain its beauty is with regular professional cleaning. Environmental Carpet Care provides safe, effective, powerful area rug cleaning by Environmental Carpet Care professionals.

Our complete care process guarantees the proper servicing or your fine area rugs each and every time.

First, we’ll measure your your rug and carefully inspect for spots, stains, and other soiling requiring special attention, and we’ll determine a price for cleaning.  We’ll also assess wear patterns, and repair needs which can help you make informed decisions about how best to prolong the life and beauty of your rug.

When your rug arrives at our facility, we first give it a dry treatment commonly called ‘dusting’.  This is the most important step in our process of cleaning any rug.  Air dusting machines use compressed air blown into a rug combined with gentle machine vibration.  This dislodges and blows dust and soil out from underneath and between fibers.  A powerful vacuum then sucks up the dislodged dust and particulates. This process is commonly used to clean fine area rugs of a delicate construction that would be unable to withstand the shampooing process.

Dusting can remove pounds of dirt and soil from your rug.  We monitor the process and control the duration and level of vibration for each rug; we repeat the process as needed for rugs with problematic areas or large amounts of soil.

We use environmentally friendly, safe cleaning agents to ensure that your rug colors are restored to their best and that dyes remain stable and do not transfer.  The nature of the rug will dictate the actual process we use to shampoo it.  Your rug may be wet with power sprayers and shampooed with brushes that scrub and deep clean the rug.  Alternatively it may require immersion in a special wash tub that provides gentle agitation without the use of brushes or power spraying.  Either way, our process and systems are safe and you can trust your heirlooms and precious antiques with us.

When your rug is clean we use a state of the art rinse and wring machine process to gently and quickly remove the cleansing agents and any excess water.  This speeds the drying process so your rug will be back in your home without waiting weeks as is sometimes the case with other methods.

Finally, we dry your rug on special racks designed to support your rug while circulating large volumes of clean air.  Supporting your rug prevents distortion of the shape and eases stress on the weave and fibers of the rug while it dries.  Continuous circulation with fresh air speeds the drying process.

We monitor your rug throughout the cleaning and drying process and once completely dry your rug undergoes a final detailed inspection by our professionals.  Only then will your rug will be wrapped and delivered to your home.

Environmental Carpet Care recommends deep cleaning most area rugs every two years to remove allergens, dust mites, sand, dirt and hair that are trapped in your area rug fibers. Regular area rug cleaning will prolong the life and beauty of your area rug.

We recommend the following to best care for your rug after cleaning:

Rotate your rug – To ensure even wear rotate your rug about once a year.  Depending upon traffic patterns, you may need to rotate twice a year or only every two years.

Vacuuming – Vacuum your rug on a regular basis.  If your vacuum has a beater bear, do not vacuum the fringe with it.  Instead, use only suction on the fringe.

Padding – Use a quality pad under your rug.  This helps reduce the wear on the rug fibers as well as protect it from dirt and slippage.
